Sculptor’s contemporary garden design
BRIEF
This contemporary garden design in Thame, Oxfordshire was created to compliment a new extension to the house which was about to be built. We enjoyed working with the architect’s plans to create a garden design that complimented the architecture of the house. Very much a lifestyle garden, we were asked to include large dining areas, socialising spaces, an outdoor kitchen and a hot tub. Unusually the garden did not need to look its best during the summer as the owners tended to be out of the country.
DESIGN SOLUTION
The contemporary garden design, included separate spaces for a fire pit and seating area and a dining and outdoor kitchen area. The feeling of these ‘outdoor rooms’ was enhanced by different levels and steps that led from one area to another. Two wide limestone stairs led from the top terrace to the dining area, with a further step down into an intimate lounge area with fire table. This garden design in Oxfordshire is currently under construction.
We often work with architect designs, in this case Lynn Palmer Architects, to create a design that is both sympathetic to the architecture of the house, adds value to the property and delights the owners. This small garden design project was also designed using architect drawings
